Family Fund
Family Fund are a charity operating right across the UK, but are based in York. They provide a wide range of grants and services to families raising disabled children on a low income.
Queer Yoga North
Queer Yoga North C.I.C. supports LGBTQIA+ people with mental and physical wellbeing through yoga. Founder Mookaite Jasper (they / them) is trained in chair yoga as well as wheelchair yoga. They are passionate about accessible and inclusive yoga.
GeneraTe
GeneraTe are a small grass roots charity based in York who support over 18 year-olds who are transgender, non- binary or questioning. They also run support groups for the parents and families of trans adults, kids and teens. They provide face to face and on-line, peer-led support groups in York, Leeds and and Doncaster.
Elevate Dance and Events
Elevate Dance & Events makes exercise fun with a range of styles! Including kid’s street, adult dance exericse and adult relax & stretch.
All of our classes are fun focused and increase self confidence!
York Anti Racist Collective (YARC)
YARC are a grassroots group that focus on using creative practices and building supportive communities – healing through connection. Their work focuses on Art Liberation workshops, showcasing the power of healing through creativity, along with our Mums of Colour Group which battles isolation and utilises the power of community.
Phoenix
Phoenix (they/them) is an agender/non-binary, asexual, neurodivergent and disabled published poet born and raised in York. Often appearing at York Spoken Word, Prickly Pear, and various online open mics, Phoenix has co-hosted open mic events for York Ending Stigma and was a supporting poet at Poetry for All in November.
Phoenix had their pamphlet, ‘Scenes of Silent Horror’, published in 2023 with
prettytatteredsoul, themed around their own experiences of emotional abuse and trauma, and has other pieces of work published in a variety of publications. Their work centres around neurodivergence, gender and sexuality, disability, discrimination, and mental health/illness.
