A huge thank you to the groups and organisations that are supporting Quiet Pride, without you we couldn’t do this.
Open all day:
The Chapel will be open all day; it provides an inclusive, quiet space and is also a lot cooler than the Creative Centre (temperature wise!). Naomi, the chaplain, has kindly shown us around so you can take a virtual tour and get to know what to expect. (Chapel tour part one, and part two)

- Art Room
- Clothes and book swap; bring clothes and books you no longer want, and take away something you do want!
- Common areas including leaflets, artwork and space to meet new people or reconnect with old friends
- Portal Bookshop, York Disability Rights Forum, York LGBT Forum, Generate and Healthwatch York will be around throughout the day
- Art and creativity display; Are you an artist, poet, short story writer or aspiring to be? Display your work at Quiet Pride! Preferably on the themes of being LGBTQIA and disabled but all work will be considered. Creatives of all artistic abilities are encouraged to get involved. Please submit by 10/8/25 by email. Visual art should be no larger than A3, poetry and prose no more than 2 sides of A4.
Morning: 10am – 1.30pm
- 10am- 1.30pm Collage workshop; Whether you’re new to collage or been enjoying it for years, come along to the collage workshop where you can create whatever you want, or lean into some of our prompts.
- Talks:
- Disability in Fiction 10-11am
- Animal and human interactions 12.30-1.10pm
- 11.30-12.30 Creative Writing: Join York poet Liz to explore queer joy and to dream, read and write into what it means to you. All welcome, no experience necessary.
Afternoon: 2pm – 5.30pm
- 2-5.30pm Collage workshop; Whether you’re new to collage or been enjoying it for years, come along to the collage workshop where you can create whatever you want, or lean into some of our prompts.
- 2-4pm Zine workshop; you can contribute to a collaborative project, or create your own mini zines! Templates, creative prompts and materials will all be provided, and a small zines library will be available for reading and inspiration.

- Animal and human interactions: 2.30-3.10pm
- 4.30-5.15pm Accessible yoga from Teapot Yoga
- 2.30-4pm Generate Writing Workshop: What does gender mean to me? Members from Generate, will guide you through this writing workshop by exploring random prompts. You’ll be asked to share your work with the group (but no pressure!). Writing will be focused on exploring gender.
